2 consecutive miscarriages, bfn the day after 'both times' , possible progesterone deficiency...how do I get the doctors to take me seriously?

Hi ladies, any help and advice would be great appreciated.
I don't have any children yet and am only 27, so two consecutive mc's has me worried!

I know you're meant to have 3 miscarriages before they look at you, but I have no children yet, have had two consecutive miscarriages and am only 27! So I don't want to try again and have yet another mc, which will result in the chances of future mc's being even greater!!!

I mean, do I really have to have 3 miscarriages under the age of 30 with no children which will inevitably diminish my future chances before the doctors will even look at me???!!!
I just feel completely hopeless and angry. Why does everyone else seem to act like its not a big deal...do they have any idea what this is doing to me, not just physically but emotionally? I don't even want to wake up in the morning, that's how low I feel. I am empty...yet again

I have a question about progesterone and hcg? So after both my mc's, one mmc, one mc. Tested the day after each time and bfn.....that quickly!!! Is this normal, could the reason for the mc's be that my body decides to just stop producing progesterone, thus not further supporting the pregnancy's devellopment, resulting in miscarriage and immediate bfn?
If the pregnancy's were failing from the start and hormones (both prgst & hcg) were dropping soon after bfp, could this explain the super quick bfn?
Been researching progesterone supplements, they wouldn't do any harm if they were used and not needed, but doubt my doc would give them to me, what should I do, as if its a hormone deficiency then you need to be on the supplements 'straigt after' ovulation, not a couple of weeks into pregnancy when the doctors have finally pulled their fingers out and its too late.....AHHHHHHH

Have you had day 3 and day 21 (of your menstrual cycle) blood tests? You can ask your GP for these, they should tell you whether your hormone levels are in the normal range.
Hope you don't have to go through another mc to find out

Sorry for your losses. Doctors on the NHS will be unlikely to refer you for tests until three mcs, as you know, but there are many doctors you could see privately. Perhaps it would be possible to have the progesterone without the full run of rmc tests at this stage.

• I will ask my gp on Monday for bloods on days 3&21
• I will ask the gp also for progesterone, given it can't do any harm if 'not' needed. Fc I get to see one of the more sympathetic doctors that is willing to prescribe it.

Aps
Thyroid function
Ferritin
Fbc
Anti nuclear antibodies

I've had 3 mc's and I'm afraid that under the NHS yes, you do have to have 3 mc's before anyone will really help you. Which yes is shit.

I had 2 by aged 38 and I begged for help and was told no I then went on to lose a 3rd baby.

Basically they will argue that mc is so common that they don't really consider it to be an " issue" until 3 in a row.

However recurrent mc (so. 3 in a row) is so rare - only 1% - that your chance of a healthy pregnancy is just as good as a first pregnancy.

That probably doesn't make you feel better. You might like to join us on the recurrent mc thread as lots of advice and treatment recommendations .

I am now nearly 14 weeks pregnant so please don't give up

I suppose I just have to be patient with regards to testing, at least I'm having 'some' blood tests done in the mean time, so perhaps something will pop up that can be managed.
Sorry for your losses brummy, I really do hope my next pregnancy is successful and healthy, each loss is crushing. I may join you on the recurrent mc thread, as everyone on the ttc thread that I knew has had their bfp and moved on, I would have moved on with them as I had my second bfp around the same time, but as you know, I lost that one too...

I am the same age as you and was referred for nhs testing as I have had 3MCs.
If it makes you feel any better your test are very similar to mine even after seeing a consultant at a recurrent miscarriage clinic. The only tests I have had which you haven't yet are the genetic screening, prolactin and diabetes (which runs in my family). She said I don't need any scans as the scans I had during my MC showed that everything is fine.

Thank you allmychildrenhavepaws, my follow up appointment is in October as the genetic test takes so long. I imagine you will hear much sooner!
The consultant was pretty confident that it would be "highly likely that a lady of my age and with regular cycles should have a successful pregnancy." It is hard not to feel like it will never happen though.. xx
