Frustration at waiting for mmc to be over

I've lurked around for years but never thought I'd be posting in this section. I had a mmc - I found out at my 12 week scan that the baby stopped growing at 8+5. Needless to say I was devastated although I do now accept what happened and want to move on. I took the medical management option and miscarried an awful lot of "matter" on 10 July. I bled like a period until this weekend and since Sunday it has been just brown discharge. As instructed I took a pg test this morning hoping for a negative so that I could, like I did, move on. But no of course it's positive but they can't do a scan till Friday. I know it's not long to wait but I am losing it with what ifs! Has anyone had this experience? I just don't know what to expect! Just looking for similar stories I guess. Thanks all.

My mmc was prolonged too. However when I did finally mc naturally (2 weeks after scan revealed mmc), I was aware of passing the sac- it was more than just matter, but quite a large solid thing. I was scanned a couple of days later and there was some tissue remaining so I had eprc. I was told to return to epu if pregnancy test was still positive after 3 weeks. It sounds like you need to be scanned to see if there is anything still there.
Sorry for your loss and hope it passes soon. When it goes on and on like this, it's a huge relief when you finally know it's over and you can start to heal. Fingers crossed you're nearly at that point.

Thanks Guy and I'm sorry you went through this too. I was just so shocked to get a positive result, I thought I would definitely get a negative. There was just so much stuff that kept coming and coming out of me, mostly resembling chopped liver (!) I thought there's no way anything could be left. And maybe there isn't, I will just have to wait.

Hmmm. I would definitely arrange a scan asap. No point waiting any longer. Call epu.

EPU clinic doesn't run Thursdays! Never mind, nearly there now. Went to work to take my mind off it today. And do some work obviously.

Yup, erpc on Monday. Should have done that in the first place. Hope it helps me move on.
