Likely blighted ovum on ultrasound today - have a work trip away tomorrow. What should I do?

I went for an early ultrasound today (6 weeks) as I did not 'feel' pregnant and was paranoid about starting to miscarry during a work trip where I am away for 2 nights.
I was told there was a 'very small' pregnancy sac (8mm) with nothing inside. I have been booked a scan for next week to (I presume) confirm that the pregnancy has not developed.
Having got back home and googled, it seems I've had a blighted ovum. Am I mad to go away on the work trip in the event my body catches up with what's going on and I start to miscarry? Sod's Law it will of course.
It's approx a 5 hour train journey.
Emotionally speaking I'm somehow doing ok but I suspect when it actually starts to happen... who knows?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

So sorry to hear this.

If you do miscarry, you will not want to be away from home. I promise. Please don't risk it. Sign yourself off and just rest.

Thank you Baguettes. Damn. I kind of really need to go... But I won't be stupid about it.

It's so tricky when you have no idea when you are likely to start miscarrying. The fact she wanted me to be scanned again suggested she didn't think it would be imminent, but I know that doesn't mean anything really.

Sorry that you have gone through this too Flowers

The scan is something they have to do in order to make sure the pregnancy is not progressing rather than the dates being slightly out. Unfortunately it doesn't mean anything in relation to how soon you may miscarry Flowers

My body caught up with the news immediately; as I left the hospital after the scan. It's bizarre how the mind can influence the body.

You will just want to be on the sofa with shit films, wine and chocolate. And MN.

Is it bad that my only small consolation is that I can have wine again? And I will... Shit films sound good too.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
