So, I'm sat waiting for my follow-up at the EPAU after miscarrying for a second time in a row 2 and a bit weeks ago.
Also in the tiny waiting room is what seems to be a family outing.... Mum / Gran plus 2 adult daughters and 2 toddlers. Hard to say who the patient is. I know childcare can be an issue with medical appts even this kind but why the entourage? Can't granny take the kids outside to run around?
I mean, even if you want someone with you for moral support, this seems OTT and inappropriate, or is it just me being overly sensitive and judgmental?

I had to take my 3 year old there when I was bleeding at 6 weeks. I felt worse for the other women than I did for myself even though she sat quietly (as I think she 'got' the atmosphere). I had no one to take her and would never have done it if I had.

Sorry for your loss.

same here. Iv had 3 mc's. 1 in hospital and 2 early ones. The time in hospital I had to wait in the waiting room and its shared with gyno/antenatal so all the expecting ladies wait there too. I had a family (pregnant lady, mum, 2 sisters and an aunt) and they all wanted to go in the scan room with her and made a fuss they all werent allowed in at the same time. I hate going to that hospital now as I have so many bad memories of it. Hugs to all you ladies x

agree that does sounds a bit OTT inamay - i dont think anyone begrudges a mother taking their children (i'm sure most would rather leave them elsewhere), but your whole family?!

when I mc'd a few months ago i didn't really mind seeing babies or pregnant women; but our epu waiting room appeared to be shared with people waiting for terminations - i am pro-choice but i found it hard to handle at the time when feeling emotional and hormonal! however they very conscientiously separate 'normal' ultrasound waiting room from epu US?!

appears eveywhere is different, and probably nowhere/nothing is ideal.

hope you're ok inamay x
