Hi all anyone offer some advice

I realised i was pregnant just over a week ago. I shoud have had a period around valentines day however nothing showed up however we only has sex that week also.

I started to feel i was pregnant with the same signs as when i fell with my baby girl now 19 months old. I had all the signs, tired, sore boobs and morning sickness. I done 2 home test which came up positive straight away. I rang my gp who advise i would need to hand in a sample, this came back as a faint positive so was advise to do another.

Yesturday i went to do my morning sample and noticed a small amount of bright red blood on the tissue. I then returned to the toilet a few mins later and this time was dark red like a period.

I attended my gp and advised him all this and he sent me away without any examination or bloods done and told me it was miscarrage. Advised me to go back.in.a week with another sample.

Now to say am devistated is a understatement. Ive had mild cramping last night with small amount of blood clots. The bleeding however has stopped. I. Dont no where to seek.advice or if infact i have miscarried

I'm so sorry, I've just had a mmc which is devastating enough but to not be sure and not get any sympathy from your GP is very cruel on top of it.

Have you done another digital pregnancy test? Can you see another GP at all?

Hi marie I'm sorry your GP is not being very helpful. Bleeding in early pregnancy is common and it's about 50:50 whether it will be fine or result in a miscarriage. I would do another home pregnancy test, though bear in mind that it can remain positive even if the pregnancy has failed as it takes a little while to drop. If it is still positive then I'd contact your local early pregnancy unit (at maternity or gynaecology department of local hospital) and find out if you can self refer or if you need a more sympathetic GP to refer you. They generally only scan after the 6 week mark as it's often inconclusive before that stage, but they could probably do serial HCG measurement to see if it is doubling in 48 hours. It's a sad truth that early miscarriage is common and that there is nothing that can be done to affect the outcome, but a bit of understanding of how devastating it is to have a threatened miscarriage would not go amiss. Good luck, I hope you are in the good half of the stats.

Hi thanks for the advice ladies and your kind words, ive been so confused and scared. Ive started bleeding again but only light with some cramps last night.

All my gp done was told me what i already thought however he just left it at that. Think i wait a few more days and take another test, still put my sample in as advised by gp and take it from there. I keep thinking that there might be hope but i think am just kidding myself.

Thank u again xxxx
