Went for a scan today as been getting pains in my stomach and it turns out I have something still there, either a pulp I think that's what she said or a clot or tissue! The mc was traumatic and I find it hard to forget but now all the emotions are coming back! She said I probably have an infection! What happens now! I'm scared and lost Confused

Dos she mean retained products ? That would cause pain and an infection. Has anyone given you a follow up appointment? Sorry for your loss op.

Polyp?

Yes pulp could be a polyp. Don't think polyps usually cause an infection though do they? I would say that the op may have retained products of conception and has a bit of tissue left behind which is now causing pain and infection.

Polyps are a bit of tissue, usually on a stalk. You can get them in the uterus, cervix, or mucus membranes (like throat or intestines).

I have no idea what they are apart from that, but they sometimes bleed or hurt and they sometimes like to remove them as a 'just in case'.

The other possibility is that your miscarriage is not complete and they may want to do a D&C. I had to have this when I miscarried, as routine, but that was a few years ago now, and they do not seem to do this now.

Be kind to yourself and look after yourself. These things take longer to get over than you hope. Hope your doctor can help you when you ring.

Polyps are growths of tissue and in the uterus are normally nothing to worry about!! They can cause spotting etc and you have a d&c of they cause you bother!! X
