confused - is this my first period after miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage at just under 7 weeks which was started on 6 Nov. I happened naturally and completely at home. I had my HCG levels monitored afterwards and by the 28 Nov they'd dropped to 7. I've now started cramping and slight spotting today. Is this my first period post-miscarriage? I thought your cycle didn't begin again until HCG returned to zero, which would only have happened about 10 days ago....?

I have got my first period at 5 weeks after a BFN at 3 weeks. I suspect my first cycle is anovulatory, though some women do ovulate in the cycle immediately following a MC.

I just thought that day 1 of the new cycle wouldn't start until the HCG got to zero?
