MC 8 weeks ago, is heavy bleeding after sex my first AF?

Hi, I miscarried at 6 weeks. Before that my AF had always been very regular 25/26 days and last 2-3 days. Tomorrow it will be 8 weeks since MC. I bled for 7 days.

I have been eagerly awaiting my first AF, having read 4-6 weeks is common. Although a doctor told me it can take 2-3 months! I had some very light spotting exactly two weeks ago, but that was all.

Then today my partner and I had sex and immediately after blood came pouring out. This was about an hour ago and I've been through 2 pads already. So I'm wondering is this my AF at last? Has this happened to anyone else where having sex actually initiated AF? It's like I had some kind of blockage released, sorry for TMI, but don't know how else to describe it. The heaviness is quite alarming.

I have heard that sex can bring a period on, although I don't know if it's based on any science or just anecdotal. If the bleed is like a period bleed I would be inclined to call it a period.

I should also mention we haven't had sex since the MC. It was after sex whilst pregnant when I first bled at 5W3D. Went for early scan, but had to go back at 6 weeks for internal scan when they found an empty pregnancy sac. Started bleeding heavily after that. A final scan 1 week later showed everything had gone.

This was the first time we had been intimate since the MC and immediately I started bleeding again.

He is very gentle so know he isn't damaging me, but it does seem like every time I have any kind of penetration I start to bleed!

It does look like a period bleed, bright red and no clots, but I've never had one as heavy as this. Onto the third pad now. It feels heavier than the MC, but think it might be slowing down now.

So the bleeding seems to have stopped almost as suddenly as it started. Pretty sure it can't be a period then. Very confused.

Very frustrating. Just want body to go back to normal so we can try again :(
