I am in hospital today having the pessaries. I have had 2 lots so far, getting cramps but not lost anything. I am having to wee in a pan on the toilet for them to monitor lose. What if I need a number 2?? Do I have to do that in the pan aswel?? Embarrassing!!

Hello, sorry you are going through this. I had the pessaries too. They told me that if I needed a number two I should do it in the bed pan, but if you don't want to do that just go in the toilet. They can't make you do anything you don't wan to do. The reason they say 'go' in the bedpan is in case the pregnancy tissue slips out at the same time. Then they can retrieve it and have a look.

Have you started bleeding yet? At my hospital they allow you to go home once you start bleeding and then everything can happen in the privacy of your own home. I went home and the pessaries brought on a very severely upset stomach. There is no way I would have let all that come out into a hospital bed pan (sorry if TMI). If you do go home make sure they give you some strong pain killers.

No I have not started bleeding as yet. I feel as though an upset tummy is coming which is why I asked the question! The leaflet I got when had the oral tablet on Friday said I would have to stop in hospital until everything had completed. I really wish I could go home and let it happen there.. I hate hospitals at the best of times
