I think I may be misscarrying...

I'm not even sure if I was pregnant. I had a feeling I may have been, I haven't had a period for a month or two and I had unprotected sex a couple of months ago. I started what I thought was a period today but I've had very thick clots in the past half hour about 5 inches in length and I have awful stomach cramps.

I have miscarried before and this is how I remember it.

If I do a pregnancy test will it confirm I was pregnant?

Just wanted to say that I'm in a similar situation but further along and waiting for one.
Can you get to an early pregnancy unit? Or A+E? If not, I'd make an appointment with the GP first thing

Thanks, unfortunately I am on my own so I can't get anywhere tonight but I'll call out of hours tomorrow for advice. According to Google I will still have pregnancy hormones in my system so a pregnancy test, if positive, may confirm a miscarriage

Bold. Sorry to hear this. Yes, I think it's likely a test will still show up positive if you were pregnant. It varies but I have had faint positive tests for at least a couple of weeks after my miscarriages have completed.

I realised I never updated this. I have indeed had a miscarriage, I must have been 6 weeks max. I had no idea I was pregnant and I'm not sure how to feel.

I've been to see the midwife and had a scan to check all was gone and it was. I am off to have a coil fitted next week.

My miscarriage was confirmed on Monday. There's loads of support on here if you need it :)
