Miscarrying

I knew something was wrong through the whole pregnancy.
Woke up this morning bleeding. Went to hospital, they pretty much confirmed it.

Is what I'm experiencing normal? Red blood and lots of very painful abdominal pain. Worsens when sitting on the toilet.

Am I right in thinking that as I had a scan Wednesday before this happened and sac and yolk sac were in the right place that it can't be ectopic? That's what hospital seemed to think but they didn't give a lot away.
Sorry for the ramble.

Thank you. He said he's not to worried as I have already had early scans. To see my gp later on and take co-codamol once the paracetamol has worn off.

Going to a&e. Rang them again and while on the phone passed a clot and lots of blood.
They've called me an ambulance.
I hope this day improves.

Hi treacle,

Sorry for all your going through and for your loss. Hugs to you.

I had a lot of pain with my first miscarriage due to a blockage which they gave me morphene for in hospital and it helped a lot. They also managed to unblock (without surgery too) and I felt a million times better once that was done.

From my experience GPs aren't much good so if you're still at home and in a lot of pain and having heavy bleeds call an ambulance and they'll take you to hospital. The paramedic who helped me was amazing and seemed to know a lot more about it than my GP.

Oh god treacle.

ThanksThanksThanks And some WineWinefor you later.

I miscarried on my birthday too and it's totally shit Sad

Tranquilitybaby · 19/05/2014 09:54

Hospital is definitely the best place for you now. I hope the pain and bleeding eases soon. They'll give you better painkillers to help you feel more comfortable. X

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 10:15

Thanks everyone.
The doctor is keeping an eye on my bleeding and heart rate.
Don't know what they will give me. The pain has eased such a lot since the clots passed.

Sorry you're going through this. I went through it yesterday. Once I'd passed large clots and the pain eased, I was discharged. There's nothing a&e can do I'm afraid. Have you anyone with you?

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 10:40

I've got DH with me. I just hope I get some pain relief if in case it's as bad as it was this morning again.

worried, are you still having pain and clots? Sorry to hear you're going through this too.

OP posts:
Worried22 · 19/05/2014 10:56

I'm just bleeding now, quite heavily. Think everything came out yesterday. I was on my own in a cubicle in a lot if pain, I had an awful contraction then a gush and the pain went. I keep reliving it, I didn't have to buzzer to call a nurse as it was in a&e. It's such a horrible experience.

We're here for you, thinking of you. I'm an emotional wreck today, want this to be over.

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 10:59

That sounds awful :(

I had horrific pain this morning and like you say all of a sudden lots of pain blood and massive clots.

I hope things start looking up for us.

Treacle hope it is settling now. Glad you are somewhere you can be monitored. Flowers

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 11:06

Thank you x
The pain comes and goes but is so much better than this morning.

They're letting me go home now. I'm still worried about the clots, worried, did you have very large clots? Mine must have been about half a banana and then another after.

Worried22 · 19/05/2014 13:00

I just bled, everytime I moved it gushed out, then I think I passed everything. My friend had a miscarriage a while ago, she passed clots for a while. It's normal, but best to have the scan to check what's happening. My friend didn't have a scan and had retained tissue.

Worried22 · 19/05/2014 13:02

Sorry I hope that made sense, I'm not feeling very with it today. What I passed was more than a clot. I think all situations are a bit different, but all are devastating.

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 13:50

Thank you worried, i have my scan Wednesday.

Look after yourself. It's such a hard time.

bakingtins · 19/05/2014 15:21

Hope you are home now, treacle and coping ok. Big clots is ok, mine were at least the size of my hand each time.

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 16:14

I'm home thank you bakingtins. Wary of taking my co-codamol but I'd rather take some now so it's not bed time.
The bleeding has really lightened up so not sure what's happening.

OP posts:
bakingtins · 19/05/2014 17:52

Hopefully that's the worst of it over. IME I've had heavy bleeding until the sac is passed - one time I bled so much I was admitted to hospital but that was because the sac/placenta got stuck in my cervix - I wonder if that's what happened with you? It tends to settle right down once the sac is gone because the womb can contract down.

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 18:13

I'm not sure, it's all new to me. I've had heavy bleeding and some clots for 2 days then today unbearable pain and large clots. Now back to pain and not much blood.
I'm guessing the pain will stick around for a while though? Muscles and things. Plus I think some of this higher pain is probably wind.

OP posts:
Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 19:27

I feel like there's something waiting to come out. When I sit down I can feel something. I hope I'm wrong and it's just muscles or something.
Surely if something was stuck I'd be in a lot of pain?

OP posts:
Catlover2014 · 19/05/2014 20:12

How are you now sweetie?

The contraction type pains can take a little while to go so it might just be things settling down.

Do you have some good thick pads for bed tonight? Might be worth sending DH out to get some if not. Try to put a towel down under you too.

Try to take your pain killers before bed if you can. Hopefully it will help you to sleep.

Xx

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 20:15

I'm just a bit nervous. Feels like I'm going to lay an egg. Similar to when the clot was coming earlier but without all the horrendous pain.

The bleeding has really slowed but I have thick pads so will wear those.
Got my co-codamol for before bed :)

OP posts:
Catlover2014 · 19/05/2014 20:29

Hmmmm can understand that. Doesn't help that they don't give much information.

When I mc first time had some clots then it stopped then the next day some more came. Try to rest, take your pain killers and let DH run around and look after you.

Hopefully by tomorrow you'll feel much better and this part will be behind you. Feel free to PM me anytime you want to chat xx

Treaclepie19 · 19/05/2014 21:00

I hope so. Thank you :)
Like you say, they don't help you or give you any information and the doctor today even said she was unsure if im miscarrying. Of course I must be!
