5ish weeks bleeding and hormone level only 62 any hope???

I have been bleeding lightly on and off since Sunday and had bad cramps on Sunday too, I had a scan out weds and they couldn't see anything so just thought it was too early to see anything and said they'd have to re-scan in 7-10 days. But I also had to do a blood test and levels read 62 (lady rang me with results today) and she said they think I may have miscarried, and to go back tomorrow.

Has anyone had anything similar? I don't know if it's just their theory or could I just be only a few weeks gone as the test they done was still positive on weds please help! Xx

That's around the level you should get when you first miss a period (4 weeks pregnant) so if you first had a positive test a week ago and think you are 5 weeks then it doesn't sound good. HCG levels should double every 48 hrs in early pregnancy. Pregnancy tests have different sensitivities - the early ones detect a level of 10, so until you drop below that you would still test positive.
I guess the test today will tell you, if it has doubled then you may be earlier than you think, if it has dropped then it's bad news.

That's what I was hoping that maybe I had conceived earlier than the predicted dates, but we will see :) just not enjoying this waiting game! But thank you x

Sorry to hijack but just wanted to say to bakintins thank you for your honesty. I got so much false hope when my pregnancy was failing that it was devastating when it all finally ended. It would have been much better if I had thought about things realistically rather than convincing myself I would be in the 0.00001% that everything would turn out fine despite falling hcg levels and no progress on scan. Thinking of you op at this difficult time, this time of year should be a happy occasion.

Sorry snook that sounded really negative! I didn't mean it to, I hope your dates are wrong and it's just too weeny to be making its mark yet. I would say hope for the best and prepare for the worst. All I meant is that I let myself get my hopes up when if I had looked at the bigger picture I would have been more realistic and maybe less hurt

Oh I didn't see it that way to be honest I needed it in black and white so thank you! I'm just waiting for final blood results this morning, but have been bleeding a lot and been having cramps since yesterday so I know the outcome. It's just one of those things would just like this to be over now though :( been bleeding on and off for a week tomorrow :( x

thank you, yes i am coping well im back to normal and feel myself again now. in a funny sorry of way im glad we didnt see anything on the scan as we didnt have an attachment if that makes sense. but i saw the doctor this week and hes assured me im at no higher risk of this happening again and we can start again when ive had my next period. If i can wait that long :S but ive realized unfortunately it is just nature and sometimes in life we have no control over some things. x
