Faint blue cross on pregnancy test after mc 3weeks ago..want to try again

I had a MC at 9 weeks due to blighted ovum about 3 weeks ago. I really want to start trying again. I did a pregnancy test today and there is a very faint blue cross. I must still have the hormones. Is it to soon to start trying? Do I have to wait for a negative test? I haven't had a period but am not too concerned about that. Mentally I feel we should try again soon. Thanks in advance.

It's helpful to have a negative test to know that any residual hormones have gone and that a future positive is the real thing. You probably won't ovulate until the HCG is out of your system. I'd retest in a week and if you are still getting a positive contact your GP or EPU, if hormone levels are taking a long time to fall they tend to monitor with blood tests to make sure there is no retained material.
If you have any signs of ov nothing to stop you trying though - the only reason to wait for a period is to help with dating a subsequent pregnancy.

I have been advised not to try till we get bfn and hcg is 0. Currently waiting for my hcg to drop below 400 5wks post mc.
As baking says, you prob won't ovulate till hcg is out if system and docs will want to be 100% sure that any future bfp is due to new pg and not the mc

Please see your GP if you still have hormones after 2 weeks. It could be a sign of retained materials (or in very rare cases, secondary ectopic or molar). They are supposed to advise you to do this. It's also why they suggest you wait until after a period to TTC; because then you know it's a new period.
