V Early miscarriage. Do i need doctor or just do it at home?

My cycles are a bit erratic, have had a few faint BFP's this week but then the line went weaker. So I thought shit here we go again, and waited for the bleed. After a couple of days, nothing, so i took a digital and it said pregnant 1-2 weeks, I was delighted thought that maybe the line had got fainter because i drank more or something. This was yesterday, today i woke up bleeding. It's more than spotting and not old blood, if i call out of hours GP they will say go to hospital where i will sit for hours in an emergency department, and still not get an answer. Having said that do i need it on record for my gp to start investigating (it will be my 3rd misc). Or should i just sit it out at home? Any tips gratefully received.

You should contact your gp so they have it on record. Sorry to hear you're going through this, mc is shit.

Yes sit it out at home with a hot water bottle and some decent painkillers, but see your GP next week to put it on record. If it's the third time they should refer you. If I were you I'd make an appointment for Friday - by then the worst of the bleeding should be over and you should be feeling better physically, so you can just report it and ask for a referral, but if you were still bleeding heavily or had any other signs of things not going as you'd expect you can get the GP to have a look.

Both times this happened to me I sat it out at home but went to the doctor in the following week where I was referred to the hospital for a scan to check the miscarriage was 'complete' and to ensure it was on record.

Sorry to hear this. It's an awful thing to go through. If there is an epu near you go there. It's what I did and they will advice what to do.

I've called GP and got an appointment for tomorrow, not looking forward to it. but i thought i should have a chat with him to make sure i know signs of infection or complications and to start talking about where we go from here with it being my third. I'm just not sure what test and stuff to ask for and not be fobbed off with "it's one of those things, try again".

I've had 4 MC since March of last year.
My second was early, I started spotting blood at almost 6 weeks.
When I phoned the EPU they booked me to come in a week later, unless I was in a lot of pain or bleeding heavily in the meantime. Bleeding had progressed so I was pretty sure I had miscarried but they still scanned me and blood tested to check HCG levels to make sure it was complete.
With my 4th loss I had done a series of clearblue digital tests that went from preg 2-3 weeks, to 1-2 weeks a week later so at 5.5 weeks I knew it was imminent. When I started to bleed I phoned the EPU to see if I needed to go in.The midwife recognised my voice before I even said my name,I've unfortunately been at the EPU for so many scans and appointments in the last year!
I knew what to expect so she said I didn't need to see anyone if it progressed normally but to do a pregnancy test 2 weeks later and contact her again if it was still positive,at which point they'd scan.
Do you know if your EPU takes self referrals by phone?
I have found advice from the midwives better than that of the GP where miscarriage/early pregnancy is concerned.
