Bleeding stopped but still have cramps

Hi, just after some advice please. Started bleeding last weekend, scan at EPU on tues. Should have been 10 weeks, baby measured 5 so was sent home and told to come back in a week to see if baby had grown. Once home I started bleeding heavily and passed the sac and clots so went back to EPU where I was given an internal and told the mc was complete. Had a follow up scan this week where I was told I still had retained material. I wanted to have it removed to get it over with, but no appointments until next Monday, so they suggest I wait another week to see if it passes naturally. Now the bleeding has stopped but still have a lot of pain.
EPU are not answering their phone and GP says its a hospital matter as "they are the experts". So fed up, so hard to get any help. Any advice very much appreciated.

Can you phone the Gynae department if you can't get through to EPU? At my local hospital EPU is a morning only clinic but the gynae number is 24 hours.
Is medical management an option? Might be faster than waiting for a surgical slot if the worst is over and there is only the last bits of tissue to come?

Ah, this doesn't make a horrible situation any easier does it. I had a similar situation a couple years ago: I just turned up at EPU in the end, but make sure you go during its' opening hours: my out of hours GP sent me there at 7pm and it was shut...so I avoided the 5 hour wait at A&E the triage nurse told me I'd have, and turned up the next morning.

My thoughts are with you, it's a tough time, look after yourself, x

Thanks for your replies, will keep trying the number as they are open 24 hours and go in if pain is unbearable. Have Tramadol which is taking the edge off. Just wasn't prepared for any of this, was told it would be like a heavy period!
Thanks again, it helps to hear from people who understand.

Got through on the phone, waiting for a call back from a nurse. ....hopefully all normal.
