So I went to see my gp today as I've finally had enough of the emotional outbursts I'm feeling and the irrational anger etc and not really coping and they said go and see the health visitor? I wasnt even aware this was an option etc?! Anyone else seen a health visitor after miscarriage? Is it similar to a form of counselling? X

Sounds similar to fobbing off to me! I wouldn't have thought it's within their remit really. I guess you have to contact them and ask, if you get a nice one they may be able to refer you for counselling.
Otherwise, try the miscarriage association which has a helpline to talk to someone and may be able to recommend local organisations or counsellors.

It's hard to get mental health support on the NHS in many areas sadly - you have to be in a really bad way. Very sad - they just don't have the staff.

I agree- Miscarriage Association or Mind may be able to suggest free/cheap support for you.
