Has anybody ever taken part in trials?

As the title suggests really, I've just been reading on the miscarriage association site about the TABLET trial. They are looking for women to take part in hospitals around the country it's looking at thyroid antibodies in women who have tested negative for thyroid problems and wether this drug can prevent miscarriage in these women. I've emailed for more info as a hospital near to me is taking part. Just wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this or would you consider it? I'm not sure if I definately would do it if I got the chance but I'm definately interested in finding out more.

Yes I have taken part at my hospital - gave blood samples over 2-3 weeks ago when I was in to have bloods done for ERPC.
I haven't received anything yet to tell me the results.

However I had thyroid levels tested about a year ago (fertility tests) so I don't think I will be a candidate.

Bzzbee so did you test negative for antibodies last time? I had thyroid test along with clotting tests etc a couple of months ago it just said they were normal but I hadn't heard about antibodies until I read about this trial. I suppose I would have nothing to lose by looking in to it.

Sorry you have recently had to have an erpc :-(

Hello
Funnily enough the consultant rang me today with the results, I did not show any thyroid issues so I won't be involved in the trial.

Hi, that's a shame you can't take part but great news that you don't have the antibodies that could possibly cause mc!
I got a reply today to say they are waiting to get the go ahead for the hospital near me and will get back in touch soon so I'll see what it's all about x
