MMC 4 weeks ago, no sign of MC yet - how long did it take for you?

i went for a scan last week, when i thought i was 9.5 weeks pregnant. told that there was no heartbeat and the baby stopped developing/died at 6 weeks.
so that's exactly 4 weeks ago today (would have been 10 weeks today)
when will i miscarry?
how long did it take for you?
i've been having very light spotting for a week.... just getting desperate for it all to be over now.

my consultant said it can take up to 6 weeks - which is why I chose to have an ERPC

12 week scan showed problems though baby seemed ok.
had another scan 2 days later, no heartbeat.
it was on a Friday afternoon so they scheduled the op 1st thing Monday morning. (had it been a week day, they would have done it even quicker)

My consultant said it can take 6-8 weeks. Mine was discovered at a 12 week scan. I'd had no signs, no spotting etc. I opted for an ERPC the day after the scan. I couldn't stand the idea of waiting once I knew.

thank you amazing mum and john deere, sounds like the ERPC is the way to go... i'm just terrified of general anasthetic.

thanks for sharing your experiences, got to go back on Friday to the hospital so will ask them about the ERPC as i dont fancy waiting 6 or even 8 weeks!

I waited 12 weeks and had what seemed like a v heavy period. I assumed that was it but pregnancy test and subsequent scan showed I still hadn't mcd went in for medical management which they tried twice, it was horrible and didn't work and finally had the surgical option. In hindsight I wish I had done that all along. It was quick, painless and meant I could finally move on. I would definitely recommend that route. I'm so sorry for your loss x

First of all, big hugs. Been there and it's heartbreaking. 5 years later I still shed a tear now and again for my little one.
If you are lightly spotting it won't be far off, mine happened about 6 weeks after the doomed scan. I was offered a d&c however felt I wanted nature to take its course. It's painful physically and emotionally, but it will get better. 5 years later I have a cheeky little 2 year old boy and a 5 month old baby girl.

So sorry for what you're going through, it is such an awful situation.

I started spotting at the beg of December, then bleeding heavily on Dec 14, passed some big pieces of tissue/clots on January 1 and 2nd. However, the histology analysis results of those clots a week later showed that it wasn't pregnancy tissue, and I was still getting BFPs. Had another scan on Jan 9, which showed that the empty sac was still there.

I then opted for ERPC because I was exhausted, both phsysically and emotionally, I wanted to know for sure that it's finally over. It was done last Friday.

It's a very straightforward procedure, there was very little pain afterwards (more cramping really), and the bleeding stopped almost immediately. I had been bleeding for over 4 weeks by then, and I only realise now how much that had been affecting me! Every time you go to the toilet, there is a reminder of what is happening...
I am very glad that I can draw a line at least as far as my body is concerned, no more uncertainty about when is it finally going to happen. For me, the benefits outweighed the risks by far.
