I am booked in on the 4th of jan but that was booked before this happened and that was for an early scan so ill have to cancel, the doctor today just sent me off and that was that as far as she was concerned im not pregnant now because my levels were right down i dont know if she meant really low or 0. I honestly thinkshe didn't acknowledge it as a pg she thought id had false positives but still suggested i see my cons im just so confused x

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1552980-TTC-or-pregnancy-on-prednisolone-or-similar-part-9
There you go. It's in Conception section, along with some other threads about tttc after mc.
Happy to answer any questions you might have about pred, and/or read back through the threads (9!) and you'll find out loads.
IME blood levels of hcg have dropped prior to bleeding/miscarrying starting.

Butterfly I just wanted to say sorry for your loss especially at this time of year. I'm dealing with (hopefully) the final throes of my 7th mc. I've been where you are - the worst thing is the unpredictability and feeling of total lack of control. Do make sure you take time for yourself. And rest as much as you can.

I'd say that at 6 weeks its unlikely you'll have much more than a longer/heavier period. You may have some bits that look like chopped liver. It may be that your body absorbs everything.

I'd suggest you keep the scan appt on 4 Jan - they can check things are moving along and that there isn't anything left to come out. It'll set your mind at rest.

I was going to refer you to the Pred Thead but Iggi got there first! . There's a lot of info thru the 9(!) threads. It's rather quiet ATM but if you go back to the start there's lots of info about natural killer cells and tests and specialists. Not all medics believe but NKCs can be a major factor in early mc's before 9/10 weeks which is when the placenta takes over.

Take care of yourself x

Oh choccypud 7mc you poor thing im sorry. It's so shitty isn't it i cant understand how anybody actually has a baby when this happens to so many women. My consultant said last time that the chances of it happening a 3rd time were slim but now im in the minority what next. I think ill ring epu tomorrow and see what they suggest, i will mention nk cells when i see her ill tell her i read about it on here she was the one who directed me to this site! X

Hi Choccy lovely to see you but very pissed off you are not having a better time Angry
Butterfly Choccy's advice is good, 2 of my mcs were around 6 weeks and they were not too difficult physically. Try not to worry about that side. If you keep the scan date they should be able to see that it's complete.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 27/12/2012 08:30

Butterfly, how are you doing? It natural to feel scared of miscarrying.

butterfly86 · 27/12/2012 09:10

Hi im ok i've got up this morning and everytime i go to the toilet now theres bits of stuff coming away just small bits though and the blood is really dark brown. I'm a little bit crampy but no worse than period pain i have to go to work today and im there until 7 tonight so hoping it doesnt get any worse, i'm still scared it's just the unknown x

Sorry for all of your losses :(.I wanted to as BUTTERFLY any news for you??the same thing happened to me although I was bleeding to the point I was changing a pad twice in an hour.they took the hcg said it was low so miscarrying.however went back to confirm miscarriage and the levels increased.my dates were wrong that's why hcg was so low.I am now 10 weeks and 4 scans later all with heartbeats.I have bled red blood every fortnight but my baby is still there.I am high risk as I have had 3 miscarriages and a stillborn daughter 20 weeks ago. So there is hope for you so just wanted to know how its going???

butterfly86 · 28/12/2012 13:31

Hi coco wow thats amazing! Sorry for your other losses though :-( Im still bleeding red blood but it's not bad to be honest yesterday i was quite crampy and had a few "bits" come away,I wouldn't call them clots at all. Don't have much in the way of cramps today i was really expecting more than this! I was told i needed to go to epu yesterday and to go to a&e to be fasttracked, i sat for 2 hrs then they changed their mind and sent me home i was fuming but i've been told to still keep my app at epu with my consultant on jan 4th not that i'll be pregnant by then but still need to speak to them. My urine sample was negative again yesterday they said so i've no idea what's going on with my stupid body x

BUTTERFLY I keep my fingers crossed for you I really do I know how hard it is to miscarry and also give birth and not have a baby to bring home :(. I don't know what other advise to offer and when I have bled during this pregnancy it has been really heavy for a day but stops.the first time I bled I was in a lot of pain but I think my body was confused.but like I said I thought I was miscarrying and I have miscarried before so I know what its like.but so far so good.we always think of the negative but I really hope you have a positive xx

butterfly86 · 28/12/2012 20:30

Coco i pray this time it goes well for you, you certainly deserve it after all you've been through even with this pg. Here's hoping my consultant can shed some light when i see her! Xx
