I have just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant. In the last 18 months I have had two missed miscarriages.I have had three other children and have always enjoyed sex through my pregnancies, but after my miscarriages I am a little bit nervous about having sex.Does anybody know what the current thinking is on this subject?

I'd wait till you have seen a midwife. Just to be on the safe side.

I have had 5 (may be on my 6th) m/c and was told NO to sex !!! this advice was given by my GP and consultant.

I was told to avoid in the first 12 weeks (had spotting after sex and had had a m/c)

MY DH would not come next nigh or near me for the full monty for the full 9 months, following a M/C.

However there is more than one way to skin a cat. Wink

I lost my first at 24 and my second at 26 weeks. After that my consultant told me no sex after about 20 weeks as sperm can soften the cervix.

I am currently 6.2 weeks pregnant and my husband is feeling nervous about the whole sex thing anyway,i have an appointment in just over a week at the epu, just to make sure that everything is okay,so i guess we can ask at the same time.wish me luck at my appointment, i am feeling rather mad at the moment swinging wildly between hope and abject terror that this little baby has died as well.
