No pregnancy symptoms even though good hcg levels

With my first (successful) pregnancy I felt v sick from 4.5 weeks to 19 weeks. This time the nausea and all other symptoms disappeared by 5 weeks. HCG at 6 weeks was 7000 (apparently good) and over 10000 by 7 weeks but was diagnosed with blighted ovum and had an ERPC. Why did I have no symptoms but good HCG levels? Are pregnancy symptoms caused by progesterone not HCG? I'm wondering if I maybe had low progesterone levels and should use progesterone cream next time. Any ideas?
