Has anyone had an experience whereby HCG doesn't return to zero (or as good as) following a chemical pregnancy?
In this particular scenario there was a BFP at 10dpo, and the same faint line (no darker, no lighter) continued, through when bleeding started at 14dpo, including heavy period-style bleeding 15/16dpo and so on. Beta HCG levels at 12/15dpo were 18 and 15 respectively, so the numbers are going down, just not very fast. Tests late on 16dpo are still showing exactly the same strength faint line on several different brands as they were at 10dpo.
I guess what I'm saying is - what happens if the bleeding stops (or there's enough for a period-worth) and there's still HCG and it doesn't drop? Could it be ectopic, especially as there was watery, prune-coloured spotting at 10/11dpo? Or will the HCG just slowly dissipate regardless of the contents of the uterus?
There will be another blood test 19dpo but would like to be prepared just in case the numbers haven't dropped by then in order to push things if necessary with the GP.
Sorry if this is a bit disjointed :(
Thank you!!
