MC mid-May, no AF, not PG but getting streaks / odd clotting 8 weeks later

I haven't had any period between the MC and now, but am very irregular so not unexpected. I have done a couple of tests but I'm not pregnant.

Last Friday I got pinky streaks when I wiped, which has continued since then all week, varying between red streaks, brown streaks, beige clots and brown clots.

Is this retained product and should I worry? Have had some cramping too. I don't feel ill.

Seems to be tailing off at the moment but then I keep thinking that and it reoccurs.

Hi firemansamsmam
First of all, sorry to hear about your MC. I had one in April at 12 weeks and mumsnet is one of the few things keeping me from going mad! I hope you are okay.
I have had virtually every symptom imaginable since the MC, and my first period after the MC (about 7 weeks after medical management) was as you described - very light indeed, varying from bright red blood (but very small amounts) to brown, dark brown, and clots (small ones) of various colours! It sounds just like yours so you are probably having a period too. I was so paranoid about retained products that I was virtually camped out at the GPs. They said (and they seem to be right) that if I had retained products, the infection that would go with it would cause pain, excessive bleeding or a horrible smell. If you get any of those, get to the EPU or casualty straight away. A negative pregnancy test is a really good sign that you have passed all the product, as retained product will cause hormone levels to stay up. If there are some small pieces left, my GP said that they wouldn't do anything about it anway, unless infections set in and became a problem. They seem to prefer a 'wait and see' approach rather than doing lots of ERPCs.
After that first period I had a very strange cycle indeed, which I will happily tell you all about if you PM me! Now on second period which is much longer than usual but more like what I am used to!

Obviously I am no expert, just telling you what happened to me and hoping it will relieve some of the worry - in the leaflets they don't tell you about the first cycle and I was so worried for weeks and weeks...if you are concerned, my advice is to go and see your GP, they will reassure you (if they are decent!) and check that everything is going back to normal.

Thank you Quicksie, that is really helpful. I didn't realise it could be an actual period! It's really light, I've only worn one pad a day.

I would be very interested to hear about your next cycle, I've got to say I had little or no info from my hospital on what would happen next so I am in the dark a bit.
