Twin pregnancy no heartbeat at 8 weeks

I went for a scan yesterday (also had one two weeks ago which showed one baby and one heartbeat) there was no heartbeat on abdominal scan so they tried internal and found another baby in the sac. Neither had a heartbeat. They want me to come back in one week to see if anything progresses although they told me not to get my hopes up. Apparently it's procedure to rescan in a week if the situation changes (in my case from one to two babies). Does anyone know what could be going on? This will be my third mc I lost the first at 12 weeks and the second at 20 weeks due to clotting in placenta. I was taking aspirin during this pg and had been spotting since one week before af was due.

So sorry that you are going thru this.
The wait is the worse, u don't know whether to be positive or not!
I can't really comment as not been thru this (twins) but they should have heartbeat at 8wks so doesn't look like it will be good news.
Really sorry :( xxx

Also want to say sorry you are going through this. It is horrible (had mc 4 weeks ago).

Sorry, no advice just sending lots of hugs x

Very sorry that you are going through this.

Since you know that clotting is an issue I would suggest you push for blood tests for Antiphospholipid syndrome and other clotting disorders. Aspirin alone might not be enough to treat this - I have been given Clexane injections as well as aspirin this pregnancy and so far so good.

It was part of the "routine" testing that I got when I got referred to the hospital for recurrent miscarriage. Now that you have had 3 you should definitely be eligible for testing.

I was offered the injections as well but I was spotting brown blood since a week before I got bfp and they couldn't prescribe the injections whilst that was going on.

I have found out more about my situation, as the babies are both in the same sac the are called monoamniotic twins and are extremely high risk. I think I have been unlucky to concieve these twins as they only have 50% chance of survival in good circumstances never mind my dodgy body. The pg would have been very high risk so I am not sure how I would have coped anyway. I am a nervous wreck in pg after my previous experiences.

Reading your post- I am in the same situation, and all over the place with it ;(
I had a scan at 6 weeks with a heart beat and one baby found, I went yesterday for 8 week and they found 2 with no heartbeats and I to have to return next week. I am trying not to wishfull think as I have been told it's unlikely that they have missed anything.
Life can feel hard, but our bodies are wonderful things and if it's not right then it's not ment to be 💔
