Have I miscarried?

I was 7 weeks on Tuesday. I had a missed miscarriage last October at 10 weeks, and baby had died at 7 weeks, so as you can imagine, this was the week I was most worried about.

Last night I got some really horrible, shocking news about a friend's newborn baby :( and ten minutes later felt like I'd lost a bit of bladder control so rushed upstairs to find I'd gushed red blood down my legs. Devastated. The bleeding carried on for about half an hour, constant dripping, still fresh red, with a couple of medium sized clots but as far as I could see, no sac (like I had with the medically managed miscarriage in October). I saw the out of hours GP last night and am waiting for a referral to EPU.

The bleeding has stopped, with just a couple of (TMI) red wipes since last night. There was no pain or cramping last night. Nothing today. Waiting for a scan, eith a weekend in the way too, could be a bit of a seemingly endless nightmare of not knowing and dreading the worst.

I've googled way too much and know that some people bleed like this and go on fine with their pregnancies but also it could just be a classic miscarriage and I just don't know it.

What does it sound like to you? Thanks :)

Don't know why I'm on here again but maybe I'm hoping the thread will bring luck or something :( I've had a bit of brown blood when wiping ever since last week but hoped it was just the end of that big bleed. But it just hot a bit heavier and has started turning redder :( :( :( fuckity fuck (sorry. i don't like online swearing but it just feels right)

Just got an appt for wednesday morning at epu for a scan. Unfortunately it is the same pattern as the October miscarriage, brown for a while before turning red, and that one was a missed miscarriage. Jesus, it's so unfair. I'm so scared.

Wondering whether I should try and get a private scan so that I know sooner. Can't afford it really but wednesday's a long way away. DH is travelling home from a very difficult job interview and in a shit state so I really don't want to talk about this with him unless it's face to face.

Booked a private scan for tonight. Sod it. Call it a birthday, anniversary, and christmas present.

oh wellies. I will keep my fingers firmly crossed for you.

what time is your scan? I resorted to private scans when I had dd2 (4mc before her) and it was definitely worth every penny.

SlightlyJaded · 05/03/2012 14:53

Oh Wellies. Not fair Sad will keep my fingers crossed for you.

welliesandpyjamas · 05/03/2012 19:09

Thanks mumatron and jaded - the scan is at 7.50 so I'm just clock watching before we can leave... Repared for the worst, because you have to, don't you :( My consolation this time is that if it's not good, at least we have the best fetal expert in this region (or so the excellent salesperson on the phone assured me!!) and maybe they'll be able to explain why a bit more. Dunno.

35 isn't too old, is it! Why on earth has this started happening to me after two absolutely fine pregnancies...

Are you going to spire? (Don't answer if you don't want to)

If so the Dr is brilliant.

Thinking of you.

Thinking of you wellies and really hoping all is ok for you

Another massive sigh of relief!!! Thank you, my lucky thread!!! All well, and baby has legs too now Grin

Thanks for all the thoughts, means a LOT

Mumatron, yes, and you're right, he's fab, and so sweet. the hour and a half wait wasn't so cool but it doesn't matter at all now given the news

they found the remains of a clot which prob caused the first bleed and he can see there's still some blood left and it will keep coming out, which is what the increased blood was today. Everything else looks fine around baby, the clot is outside the sac, the blood nothing to do with him/her.

What a night.

Woohoo. So pleased for you.

I'll go to bed now Smile

mumatron · 06/03/2012 06:02

Grin what lovely news to wake up to.

I was going to say be prepared for a wait but didn't want to make you more stressed. I had my NT scan there, scheduled for 9pm. I had it at 10.20pm. I was a wreck at the end of it.

Crazytictac · 06/03/2012 07:18

Fab news! So relieved for you :)

MarieFromStMoritz · 06/03/2012 07:24

Hi welliesandpyjamas, I have namechanged back from Blx (my mood has improved!). I am also recovering from a SCH and have been on strict bed rest for the past 3 weeks. I am seeing my doc on Thursday and hopefully will have a scan then.

Glad that things are looking good for you. Are you on bed rest still?

welliesandpyjamas · 06/03/2012 14:11

Thanks everyone. Been thoroughly lazy today, blanket on lap, cuddled up on sofa, mumsnet lurking, and DH (even in his injured state) made me chips for lunch! Woo hoo, what a treat!

Marie, nice to hear back from you. The doc last night said I had nothing to worry about, to get on as normal, and to just expect a little bit more old blood as the remains of the clot comes out (or it could just get reabsorbed). Fingeres crossed for your scan on Thursday x
