In hospital. Just MC at 11+3. On my own.

Just had external and internal scans after heavy bleeding this morning. There's a sack but no heartbeat. DH away in London, but on a train home, his reception must be crap & I can't get hold of him. Feel lonely & heartbroken. Please send hugs.

Hugs for you. Miscarriage so hard. I hope you are okay until DH gets there and that the hospital are treating you sensitively.

Sending loads of hugs and prayers - lossing a baby is hard enough and doing it alone must be really hard also!

Thank you all for the hugs and prayers, they made me feel better. DH here now which is much better. Have to decide which of three "management" options to opt for now- none really appeal. It is really helpful to know many MNers have been here & come out the other side ok. Thanks.

Hi I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost two babies at 11 weeks and a bit, one in Oct 2010 and another just a few weeks ago on 31/10/2011. (In between I lost another at 5-6 weeks). With both 11 week+ losses I had an ERPC and I would honestly recommend that you choose this option. At 11 weeks you are quite far on for an 'early' miscarriage (i.e. you will bleed alot amongst other things) emotionally I think it would be easier for you to have an ERPC. It gets the whole sorry business over and done with so that afterwards you have time to deal with your emotions without the physical upheaval of a natural miscarriage. You might bleed a little afterwards and be crampy (like period cramps) but nothing like what you would go through if you were to have a natural miscarriage at this stage - sorry, I know every 'option' is horrible! I have been through an ERPC twice and come out the other side. Best wishes for whatever you choose - only you know what you can cope with. I know you must feel empty now but I promise you will feel a bit better/like you can cope a bit with 'normal' life in a few weeks time. Take care xo (((hugs))

Oh, i'm so sorry you're going through this, bird. It is really crap, but we are all thinking of you. If you have any questions about any of the options, just ask - there is always someone here who has experience of whatever it is, and who can talk about it from a personal rather than a medical perspective.

Hi all. Thank you for the support & advice, it is so lovely. DH is here now so I'm better supported (& has been great at phoning people to cancel all my commitments this week etc). Now that the full force of my "natural" miscarriage is kicking in I do think an ERPC (shit name) is the way forward. I don't want these awful toilet trips for weeks & weeks Will phone & try to make an appointment tomorrow.

Feel a bit better now family & best friends know & everyone is being lovely. It's still, as a nice doctor said to this morning, "totally rubbish" though. Had my whole 2012 mapped out... going to take a while to stop obsessing about baby names & gender scans etc.

But tomorrow is another day.

ERPC is a bloody shit name! Look after yourself and take the time you need. Been there and it is crap. Sure it is not on your mind now but I had a healthy straightforward pregnancy after mine. Sorry if this is TMI but when it happened for me I thought that was it for my chance of a family.

I think you're right to go down the surgical route. It's not nice - but nothing is in this situation. Are you dosed up on painkillers and keeping warm? Lots of hot water bottles needed tonight!
