hello ladies, i dont post very often but have been following these threads as i dont feel so alone. I am 43 have 2 dc, 12 and 14 and i think i am miscarrying at 7 weeks. to be honest there has been spotting at first(missed period) then trailed off, now more bright red and small clots and cramps. I have given it a few days and just did a test and its still pos. Is this because i have not left enough time for the hormones to settle?? this is so stresssful as we cant seem to get on with life when these things happen. Its like time stands still! Have any other ladies had the same exp.???? would love to talk to someone. my best friend moved away so only talk to her on occasions.
lots of love to everyone on herexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHmm

That is a shame I'm really sorry to hear that. The hormones take a few days to settle down so a pregnancy test would still be positive if tested, are you ttc?

I think you need to get in touch with your local EPU.

Sadly it may be a case that you have miscarried and that it hasn't all come away, hence you still getting a positive pregnancy test.

actually i was not ttc, i had a coil removed when i was 40 as it did not agree with me. i thought at the time it would not be a disaster if i did fall preg. but after a few years i assumed this would not happen so just forgot about it and then had this shock. its funny i has a mc in my early 20s but it seems so long ago now. i m not sure how i feel now tho, i was excited i suppose but also dread as my age is against me. thanks x

Yes, go to your doctor and asked to be referred to the EPU for a scan ASAP.

They'll be able to tell you if you have miscarried and wether everythings come away or not. I had a miscarraige in April and it was incomplete, and i was given the choice of waiting for it to come away, having it medicly managed - where you take tabs and wait for it to come away, or an ERPC under general. I went with the medicly managed, but it didn't work, so then had an ERPC a few days later.

I hope all goes as well as these things can.

Don't wait - go to EPU and get checked out just in case it's ectopic, especially if you've still got a strong positive on your test stick.

IME, the two times I've MCd, the hormones have dropped pretty quickly (within a week) - so you need to get your levels checked, get a scan to see where the sac is, if you still have one and generally make sure you are safe.

Please go tomorrow to the EPU or doc - just to be on the safe side.

Sorry that you may have miscarried. Going to doctor is best course of action - they should refer you to early pregnancy unit, who are normally wonderful. Hope you'll be ok

thumbtwitch, thanks i am worried now, would i have symptoms of ectopic by now?? i will go to drs tomoz thanks x

Don't fret about it, so long as you go tomorrow and get it checked you will be fine. If there were real problems, you would be in pain - but as you haven't mentioned that then I doubt you're in immediate danger. Still wouldn't wait another week though! Tomorrow definitely better plan.
Good luck!
