Loss of symptoms

Hi all

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and have only had mild pregnancy symptoms: slightly sore boobs, bloating, some constipation, twinges and pulls in my uterus and noticeable tiredness. Yesterday evening these symptoms stopped very suddenly.

I had a MMC in November last year. The baby died at 7 weeks, but I didn't start bleeding until 10 weeks. I wasn't paying so much attention to my symptoms in my last pregnancy, but I did notice that my symptoms had gone a day or two before I started bleeding.

Obviously, I am very, very anxious that I am miscarrying again.

Has anyone else experienced this, and what was the outcome.

I have a scan booked for next Thursday (booked some time ago, not because of my current concerns), so I may as well wait it out, I suppose...

P.s. I posted this in Pregnancy, before realising this was probably the appropriate place for it.

You're understandably anxious, yarnie I know I would be... but the truth is this is one of those 'it could go either way' things. Some women are lucky enough to have only mild symptoms that come and go or wear off pretty early on. Other women, it's a sign things aren't going so well. It can even be different pregnancy to pregnancy in the same woman! So bloody confusing. Do you have any other children/other experience of pregnncy other than the mmc last year?

If you had some pain/bleeding you could probably get a scan at an epu before Thursday (lets face it, it's going to be a lonnnng wait with all the 'what if's' running through your head) but otherwise you're probably stuck with waiting. Which sucks.

I'm so sorry you're having to worry and I do hope you get good news next week.

Hello Yarnie,

Sorry that you are going through all this worry. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I think the miscarriage board is probably going to give you more bad news than good as that is why people are looking/posting at the board. However, when I had a mmc my symptoms continued (even though they were always mild) and probably got worse even after the embryo had stopped developing. My symptoms probably didn't start to go until a couple of days after the bleeding started. The pregnancy test was also still a dark line until I started miscarrying properly.

From what I have read, pregnancy symptoms come and go and vary from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy. So it could just be that you are lucky and the symptoms have gone away. When I went to A&E she said that even though I was bleeding, the lack of pain was a good sign. I have also heard that cramps and no bleeding is also usually ok and just the uterus growing. So it seems that there are no rules!! But no blood and no pain sounds like a good start.....

Please let me know how you get on and please don't worry about it if you can - I am always happy to hear good news!! x x

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I am lucky enough to have a DS aged 2. I hardly had any pregnancy symptoms to speak of with him, so the mildness is not a worry, just the sudden loss of my mild symptoms. Tbh, I can't remember whether I experienced a loss of symptoms first time round - I was so relaxed about it that I wasn't paying too much attention.

I'm just going to have to tough it out until Thursday. Torture! Well, I guess in the absence of pain/bleeding, I should try and be optimistic, but it's soooo hard!

LIG1979 I am sorry you had to experience MC, too. Such a devastating experience.
