hi,

i've had/am having a missed mc and had to take the first does of the drug today and the second in hospital on Sat. everyone seems to go for a d&c in these circumstances, but i was scared bout general anaesthetic...

if anyone has taken the drugs too, i'd really appreciate hearing your experiences if it's not too painful for you - not knowing what's going to happen on Sat is doing my head in...

Thanks to everyone,

BC x

never heard of this befor to be honest. usually they will do a d&c for infection purposes!
did you have a scan?
alot of people are worried about general anaesthetic but the doctors have your health to put first!im so sorry your having to go through this be kind to yourself and take care xxx

I always wondered why they didn't prescribe these pills for MMC so I'm surprised you have been given them.

I know someone who took these for their original purpose and it wall all fairly dealable with. Just a bit of cramping and what they call "flooding" which is a really heavy bleed and passing of the pregnancy. I would recommend buying a pack of very heavy duty towels and staying close to your toilet. Along with keeping yourself cozy and well looked after with some nice films to watch and some treats and cuddles with your man. And a big box of tissues as it will probably be an upsetting experience.

I'm really sorry you are going through this jaylee, look after yourself.

With regards to waiting a cycle before trying again, it's definitely a good idea. You don't want to take any risks with these tablets. I know it's a compulsion we all have to be pregnant again after a loss. Hopefully you will be again before too long.

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss, it's a very sad time.

I had the tablets when I MC last summer - it isn't a nice experience but when you're in hospital for the day they will give you lots of pain relief. It is a long day in hospital though so make sure you have plenty to read etc, it does help to pass the time.

I don't mean to scare you or upset you with this next bit and I apologise in advance, just sharing my experience as a word of warning. Not sure if you've had it explained but you'll have to go for an ultrasound a few days later to check that all tissue has passed, if I went through this again then I would INSIST on an internal scan. The normal US missed a large piece of tissue low down in my cervix area and I ended up with an minor infection and still passing tissue weeks later.

I was advised to wait for at least one normal cycle before TTC again, mainly to make sure that your body is returning to normal. Plus you may not feel like trying again straightaway, emotionally you need time to heal.

Thoughts are with you x

thanks you two - got sent home today as they think i my have passed it all at home yesterday from my descriptions, but they can't scan at weekends (!!!!!) so have to g back on the next clear appointment time which is tuesday morning to see if it's all claer or not. how very annoying, but at least i didn't spend the whole day in hospital. I'm so sorry everyone else who posted on this has gone through a similar thing, my thoughts are with you too xxx Biscuit
