Think ive cocked up.

Went to GP and asked if they would reffer me.
Looking at webpage it looks like its private, is it?

No, it is an NHS hospital

whats all the stuff about "fees" then??

And is it any good? Will they be able to help me do you think???

I don't know if they are any good. I've never used the service (I don't live locally).

Defo NHS. And got a very good rep, all the dealings I've had with them so far have been excellent.

The problem is one of the other top hits is for a cosmetics surgery place so that might have caused some confusion.

Clomid was mentioned by Drs at my local hospital...

I see, sorry for xposts. In that case they will most likely refer you the Gynae service for recurrent miscarriage advice & treatment. This is a 'common' area of gyanecology and will be widely practiced at a specialist hospital like LWH.

The hospital I work (not a womens health specialist)in has a small Gynae dept and has a few Gynaes who specialise in fertility problems like yours, so I would expect LWH to have a much more comprehensive service.

I have just done a bit of flicking through the website and the stuff about fees is for a private 'wing' (The Catharine Suite) that is on site but not part of the NHS Trust where you can pay for private treatments such as fertility ttreatments and cosmetic surgery. It is essentially, a private hospital within an NHS hospital.

Im glad ive done the right thing, im pretty desperate now as well as disapointed and disilusioned by my local hospital

It has an excellent reputation for infertility/recurrent miscarriage help.

Re waiting times for outpatient appointments - I think national guidelines are at around 13 weeks but your individual speciality, consultant and hospital may well have a shorter waiting list.

Hi Broken I have been referred to the miscarriage clinic at the womens in Liverpool.
GP agreed to refer me a couple of weeks ago, paper work came a week later, and I had to call and make an appointment...5 week waiting list, so not too bad.
They only have initial appointments on Thursdays, and then after basic tests and medical history is taken, they book you in again to see a consultant and get your results. I have been told this takes another 5/6 weeks and can be on a Monday or Thursday.

I dont feel quite so alone now as i dont know any one in RL who this has happened to.
