Hello.

I've been having light bleeding - slightly more than spotting - for five days now and went into A & E last Friday, where they did a scan and found a very slow heartbeat. Am just over 7 weeks and the heartbeat was 87 bpm. Saw my GP this morning who was lovely and arranged a follow up scan for Thursday to see if things have worsened or improved. I was sort of getting my hopes up and had no more pain, and just slight bleeding, but in the last hour have started bleeding with clots (sorry TMI). This now feels inevitable although I still have no pain. Is it possible this might end up ok or do I just need to face reality now?

I feel such an idiot for getting so excited too soon.

Piglet, I was on this board 10 weeks ago with bleeding at 8 weeks. Ended up having two epu scans. It went on for about six weeks and every time I had a scan it would get it going heavily again (mostly old brown blood but fresh and red on at least one occasion)

They never gave me a definitive answer but they thought it was bleeding around the placenta.

It was a horrible time but its been stopped now for nearly 6 weeks and I've got my 20 wk scan a week on monday.

It can all be ok - fingers crossed for you.

Hi Piglet, i went through what your going through ie, i had a bad bleed at about 8 weeks - with blood clots, was told i was probably miscarrying but then had scan and all was fine. Next one was at 12 weeks where i lost a clot that was about the size of my hand, i was literally checking it for arms and legs because i thought that i had miscarried but once again a scan showed everything was fine. Iv had bleeding, clots, period pains and a lot of worry for the last 6 months but am happy to tell you im now 25 weeks pregnant (and still dealing with the occasional bleed) but doctors cant work out why i bleed but said that baby is absolutely fine. So up to press, bleeding, clots, period type pains, heavy pressure in the lower region dont always mean there is a problem with the baby xx

Hi Helisloth and Treebird - it is truly heartening to hear your stories. Sadly mine ended this morning and I lost my baby. Am going to keep tryingn though. Good luck with both your pregnancies x

Really sorry to hear that Piglet33. My thoughts are with you and wishing you all the luck and best wishes for when you try again. I MC'd last week and am a bit nervous about trying again but will take courage from you I think. Take care and be kind to yourself xxx
