Anyone else have a dog who detects pgs and mcs?

A weird question...has anyone else experienced a pet who is an accurate detector of pregnancies and miscarriages? Each time I have been pg, my first indication is because my dog has turned agressive. Later he then gets very restless and clingy, pawing at my boobs. At onset of mc he is very subdued and despite being normally quite hyper on walks, he just doesnt want to go out. Last time, in the middle of the park he actually laid down rolled over and refused to walk. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or should I rent him out to save us all the trouble of tests and hospital appointments!

Interesting. Dogs have been trained to detect cancer and epileptic fits, amongst other things...... so your story doesn't surprise me.
Dogs have an amazing sense of smell, and maybe your dog is smelling the hormone changes that come with pregnancy?

It's funny you should say this because I had a miscarriage and my parents dog seemed to terrified of me. I came back from hospita and she didn't want to be anywhere near me and refused to come when I called so I think it is quite possible they detect something.

My bitch knows when I am pg and can spot it in others from about 5 weeks . She becomes very protective and clingy Almost sitting on you ( not easy with full grown Rhodesian ridgeback )

my dog becomes my shadow and as mrssnap says, thinks she can sit on me (6st bulldog, not fun) and wont even let me go to the loo alone. she also had a weird thing of 'nibbling' my hand . with each of my mc she has suddenly stopped at about the same time.

Hi with both my miscarriages I am sure my dogs new before me they were very clinging whereas when I fell pregnant with my wee boy they were very protective of my, know one could get close to me except hubby

I havent had this with a dog, but strangely enough my cat decided that i was pregnant both times! His reaction to me changed both times. During my first pg, he was glued to my bump and would curl up around it, when i sadly MC my second his reaction to me again changed - its bonkers but there is definately a sensory thing going on there.

Funny you should say this OP, my dog, a Cocker Spaniel, whom I have owned since a small pup, and who is normally very forgiving, turned on me when I was pregnant, I ended up needing medical attention on my hand. I sadly had to get rid of him because I was afraid he would do that to the DC.
