hi everybody just wondering if anybody has had any good news lately, hope so let me knowxxxx

OP posts:
emptyshell · 15/10/2010 20:26

My good news is that I might be getting a water supply back by midnight - does that count?!

Nada here - following my usual 28 day cycles I'm late now, but don't think I'm preggo (too scared of miscarrying again to get back into the saddle in that department), it's just the standard post-mc WTF cycle.

babydoe · 20/10/2010 13:52

Hi been bleeding since sunday. been for scan, can see sac but only measures 5 weeks and cannot see if anything growing in sac , go back 2 weeks for another scan, but not looking good, told not to get my hopes up, never mind. ps. emptyshell, hope your water is back on.

OP posts:
TwinkleToes76 · 20/10/2010 19:27

Oh shit babydoe, so sorry to hear that. I know you know that bleeding doesn't always mean the worst but it is hard to think positively after a previous miscarriage. I'm now on to my third pregnancy this year and it is hard to stay hopeful sometimes.

How many weeks should you be by your dates? Those two weeks are hell, I ended up paying for a private scan after a week as I just couldn't bare the not knowing. I really hope your next scan is positive. But if it isn't we'll be here if you need to rant, cry, shout etc. I'll be checking back to see how you are.

emptyshell · 20/10/2010 20:30

Awww babydoe sorry to hear it's all going off for you again - we'll be monitored quite closely by the EPU bods from now on if I ever get preggo again (but with the amount of comfort scoffing of chocolate and weight I've put back on - not likely!) which is sort of reassuring and worth chasing up for future - I've been told to ring them straight away I next get upduffed and I'll be scanned early without having to go via GP.

Water came back on after 23 hours thanks for asking - went to Asda in Derby to buy bottled water and everyone kept looking at the trolley and guessing where we were living!

babydoe · 23/10/2010 18:23

hi twinkletoes76 when i went for scan on wed i should have been 7 weeks, by going on first day of last period. thanks to you and emptyshell for your comments. I will keep you informed of what happening, next scan wed 3rd nov.xxx

oh babydoe, sorry you are going through this it must be so worrying. Will keep everything crossed for you that it is a dating error and everything is OK.

I'm afraid I dont have any good news to report, its been 16 weeks since my ERPC, and no AF. I have taken progesterone and that didnt bring it on either. Then I was told to go on the pill Sad and had a ton of blood tests done, all hormone stuff coming back normal but still have to wait for one more batch before we start looking at structural issues... seems quite likely I might have Ashermans Syndrome as charting tells me I am ovulating and getting cyclical period pain. Just trying to work out what the best way to get a diagnosis is, will probably do a HSG in a couple of weeks. I feel like I deserve a place in the Guinness Book of records for the longest miscarriage in the world... it was discovered on 31 March and I still have not got my fertility back. Sad

babydoe · 29/10/2010 22:19

Well I would just like to offer myself up as a poster girl for Ashermans Syndrome and raise a bit of awareness for anyone who sees the thread title and is in the same boat as me...

If you dont get your periods back after an ERPC, if you have had an ERPC very soon after a full term delivery, if you chart and notice that you ovulate normally, have period pains but dont bleed or bleed very lightly, if your gynecologist is unable to perform certain exams because your cervix is "too closed", if you have repeat mc's, often mmcs or incomplete mcs with retained tissues.... then you should inform yourself about Ashermans Syndrome. Its very scary to read about so you will want to close your browser in horror about half way in, but you should inform yourself because most doctors and gynecologists wont diagnose this until everything else has been ruled out and they have made you wait and wait and wait. They say its a rare condition, but its not it is an underdiagnosed one.

There is excellent information on

www.ashermans.org

and here is a really good video with an Ashermans specialist

I have now been diagnosed, a full 7 months after my mc and two and half years after the first ERPC that caused it and am having an operation next week to see if I can be cured.

babydoe · 09/11/2010 20:34

Hi mummyabroad hope all goes well for you nextweek, and this will help you, will keep watching thread to c what happensxx

MummyinEngland · 18/11/2010 17:14

I have had treatment and it was a complete success! The doctor said he removed ALL the scar tissue! Grin

If anyone else wants to talk about Ashermans I started a thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage/1080899-Ashermans-Support-Thread-for-those-seeking-diagnosis-getting-treatment-or-TTCing-again-after-All-welcome

not sure there will be many takers as its a very scary topic, but I would encourage anyone who is worried to get an early diagnosis and insist on treatment with an AS specialist.

Hope you are feeling OK babydoe xxx

babydoe · 19/11/2010 20:26
