Cost of DofE Silver

Hello. I would like to learn how much other schools charge for their Silver DofE package? I don’t recall the cost of bronze but the recent Sign Up for Silver appeal at DD’s school came with a £560 price tag. That seems very high to me.

@Ski2025 there is a BIG difference between a young person holding a Gold award, and the schools that just try to send masses through Bronze, because it looks good on the schools' marketing brochures.

When we were at the presentation at the Palace, the person speaking from DofE said only 3% of people who start DofE, actually achieve their Gold Award.
Then it does stand out, but Bronze, less so.

Another massive inequality - what chance have the majority of kids doing those DoE awards? Which are very valuable with all sorts os school of Uni application, jobs, etc,

They are not valuable at all for uni applications. Unis care solely on your supercurriculars, not extracurriculars. Med might be an exception, but even then the best med statements refer to activities like volunteering (free) rather than expensive residentials. If you're aiming for uni admissions, have your kids strengthen their skills in whichever subject(s) they're strongest in.
