More info please?

I'd recommend Ovestin cream-localised HRT and it is safe. My gynae gave it to me before I started on full blown HRT- and he is gynae to some of the royal family so I trust he knows his stuff.

hi purplepeony, I used Replens and found that cause a burning sensation, i was hoping someone might suggest an alternitive because I have used Ortho-Gynest (which i believe is the same as Ovestin) but had to stop that because of the same unpleasant burning sensation
I have also used Vagifem but stopped after developing endometrial hyperplasia I may need to start using Vagifem if my symptoms continue (and if the doctor allows me to) but feel nervous about the whole HRT business now since the endo hyperplasia.
I am 4 years post menopausal and have had ?suffered? with AV and associated issues on & off.

Sorry to hear about all of that.

I have had a look in the book written by my dr- Your change, Your choice, and he recommends a topical treatment called V Gel by higher nature, or Vit E capsules- pierced first- or Sylk. Another tip is to increase your aloe vera consumption by drinking the pure juicce regularly.

He does say that if you use something Ovestin often for along time, you should take progestins every 3-6 months to offset any hyperplasia- were you doing that?

It could be that the base product in the creams is causing burning rather than the hormones themselves, so you might want to try Ovestin if you are allowed.

Hope you get sorted as it sounds unpleasant.

Thank you so much for positive stuff on Ovestin....Had been suffering for months but not wanting to take HRT and scared of making things worse.

Tried Replens which helped but risked Ovestin having been recommended by gynae and reading these posts. It is absolutely brilliant!

Only used half an applicator a night for seven days ( on advice from gynae), then twice a week and eventually only once every now and again, and completely back to normal.
