42 but my mother started hers at 38.
Nightsweats for at least 2 years off and on probably longer if I had been taking notice.
Mood swings from hell. Memory gone to pieces and feel generally shitty.
Its taken me about a year to put it all together and face the facts.

But I have been on cerazette contraception pill for 3 years so havn't had a period.

What sort of contraception can you get on HRT if you don't know for sure if you have stopped being fertile or not cos it would take me 9 months to stop crying if I got pregnant now.
And then why the hell am I still thinking about babies when I am obviously menopausal.
This has really confused me, can't get my head around it all.

oh dear. First they shoud take blood to check your hormone levels. Then you can discuss contraception. Not the pill- but condoms, IUD, cap.

Ok been to Dr and have to go back for a blood test this afternoon.

There is another option that it may be a Thyroid problem as my mother also had her Thyroid removed at 39. Thanks for that genetic mix mum.

Feel a lot better now I have faced the fact there is a problem and I am not going mad. Very tearful today though.

oh boy got the results back.
I am menopausal and I have an underactive thyroid.
Double whammy

MOre blood tests in three months for the thyroid but if my energy levels are dropping this fast I don't think I will make it through the next three months. Just don't seem to be able to get through the day now as it is. I am going to bed at 8-9pm already.
