restless legs - any advice on how to get to sleep before 3am?

Hi
does anyone else suffer from this and has any tips about how I can get to sleep at a reasonable time. I've noticed that standing helps but I can't cope with more nights wandering round or ironing. I'm knackered.

Bit of a stab in the dark but have you tried a wheat bag on your feet?

rotten condition. I seem to remember reading about some meds that can help. Worth talking to your gp?

A wheat bag - that sounds v strange. What would it do? Is it like raising your legs when your pregnant? I have to say the restless legs I suffer from are not like that.
Interested what a wheat bad does - please say more

get gp to check
iron levels -low iron can make it worse
medication - some meds can cause it

may want to consider medication to reduce it, at least in the short term to break the cycle

good luck with it, it's a horrible symptom to deal with

its horrible. didn't sleep before 5am for 3 months when pregnant with dd, not quite so bad with ds. suggestions included

iron tablets
tonic water (with quinine)
standing on cold floor
antihistamines to make drowsy (no sleeping tabs when preggers)
lots of stretching in the evening

this is informative

Chiropractor/oesteopath sorted out in the end. Lots of info says this wont work, but it did for me, I think there was pressure in my sacrilloac joint causing the problem.

The first chriro I saw was too gentle, needed someone not afraid to give everything a right good stretch. Good luck sorting it it drove me half mad.

sorry - a wheat bag is like a microwavable hot water bottle. I find them better than a hotwater bottle - more soothing and mouldable.

like these

I don't think the wheatbag would work as my legs would be moving off them too much.

I'm mot on any medication but I have been bleeding for about 2 months and I noticed last week at work that it felt like I was dragging my legs up the stairs. I think I need to go to the Drs. and check my iron levels.

does sound like you need a good overhaul.

You have been bleeding for 2 months- what- non stop?

get yourself to the drs now- that is not "normal" at any age. You need some kind of treatment.
