Effectiveness of HRT

Does HRT completely stop hot flushes?

Mine are so very much better since going on HRT, and virtually all the other stuff has improved as well, but I'm still getting mild hfs, generally in batches, as well as occasional bouts of knackeredness. Is this as good as it gets, or should I push for a higher dose?

I've been on 50mg patches for nearly 4m.

I've been on Kliofem pills for 5 months now. Hot flushes went after a fortnight and I've got lots of energy and great libido . The only disadvantages are breast tenderness and I've had thrush a couple of times. I just feel so much better, want to stay on it forever.

Mine stopped within a week and have stayed away- been on it for just over a year.
I sometimes feel a slight flush creeping up at about 11pm which is when I used to get them most- bedtime- and it means I need another dose of my HRT- I use gel and apply it morning and night.

Jam- your profile says you are 32- have you had a surgical or natural early meno?

Hi PC, I'm on Femoston 2/10 and have been since my DTs were about one - I still get the odd hot flush particularly in bed. The specialist I see told me to get HRT cream to use when needed but have not yet been to my GP to get the prescription.

However, most of the other symptoms are gone eg mood swings/obliterating fatigue etc - like vc I think I'll stay on it for ever!

I've been on Premarin 1.25mg tablets for 1.5 weeks following hysterectomy etc 3 weeks ago and no sign of any hot flushes so far.

Have been using Kliovance (this may have a different name in UK) for 18 months now. My only symptom was flushes on the hour from 2.00. a.m. onwards. A bugger. None now, so very pleased.
