ill feelings

I am probably 2 years into the menopause and about 1 year since last having a period. A year or so arlier I had some feelings of warmth which I thought were the fabled hot flushes. They were manageable and I had that feeling of 'what's the problems, why do people go on and on about this?'

Fast forward to recently, and specifically now, I've had the real deal of hot flushes and I apologise loudly for my previous misunderstanding. I'm currently struggling with a cold which in itself isn't too bad but I feel really unwell. Everything is an effort - just having a shower wipes me out. I am also struggling with really bad waves of flushes. I'm unsure if they're flushes or symptomatic of my cold.

The question I suppose is: do people feel ill with menopausal symptoms. Should I just get up and get on with it?

many thanks

I wouldn't put up with it if it's making you that bad. No experience of anything that bad yet, I'd go to GP in your place.

thanks - I think I will go to the GP - sadly, many of the GPs in the practice will blame everything on the menopause, so it's helpful to get some views from people with experience.. If I got run over by a truck you can be sure it was because of the menopause.
