hi i am currently taking hrt everol 100 patches ! as I've had a full hysterectomy and my ovaries removed so its all gone
its was after my last baby and it all had to be taken away as i had a thing called placenta arriva where the placenta grows into you organs etc and i was touch and go for me luckily my dd was 100 fine but i ended up being on life support for 3 weeks having been brought back twice ! so i know how lucky i am !!
anyway i,m not happy taking HRT it scares me ie cancer etc etc but without it i get all the obvious symptoms hot flushes mood swings etc and i,m told i need to take it due to having a earlie menopause etc as risks of osteoporosis's etc what i,m asking for advice for is does anyone know of a good safe alternatives to hrt ?? i realy don,t want to be taking hrt i,m now 46 and have been on hrt for 4 years now and really want to stop HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soya isoflavones will help protect bones as well as minimise hot flushes. But I think you should discuss this issue of HRT with a gynae, they will monitor you while you are on it, and allay any fears you may have. If the medics thought there was any risk following your condition that would be increased by the HRT, they would not have put you on it. They weigh up the risk to you as an individual, if you are likely to be more at risk of osteoporosis, this may be greater than your risk of cancer, or even of thrombosis, so it may be better for you to stay on HRT.You could discuss other types if you don't like the one you're taking.

HRT under the age of 50-ish does not carry many risks as it is only putting into your body what should be there normally- until you reach menopause.

The main risks are after the age of 50 - or whenever you start- adn then only after 5 years' use.
