I'm posting in here as I'm only in my 30's, however I had a hysterectomy 18 months ago. I only have one ovary (never had one removed, I've just only ever had one) and I think I'm heading into the menopause.

No libido AT ALL and haven't for ages now, which is unheard of for me. Hot flushes or FREEZING cold...and my memory! Can whoever has it PLEASE hand it back!!!!

So is it likely to be? Should I trot off and get blood tests?

ilove - I have no idea but I am hoping to bump you up the thread to get someone else around, Sunday afternoons can be quite quiet, hopefully someone more qualified will come along.

I would trot off for BT thou, even to stop yourself going loopy with worry.

I would go and get your blood tested for LH, FSH and oestrodial. You may need HRT.

BlueBumedFly · 09/11/2008 20:14

Hurrah - I hoped someone well knowledgable like cheshire would come along.

Thankyou!

It is quite possible - hysterectomies can make the meno come along more quickly and if you have only one ovary it is likely.

Hi - You need blood tests - they'll also test for thyroid function too which affects the things you;ve said - sounds lke menopause tho xx

I maybe going though the same thing ilove-had a hysterectomy last june (was left with both ovaries) but have some wierdy symptoms going on (sweats, major spot outbreaks, libido has fallen out of the sky in a matter of weeks).I was told ovaries could fail to work, its not super common but can happen..

I'm planning on taking a trip to gp and getting bloods checked.
