Not had period since March but now getting strange things going on. is it normal to get symptoms of a period and then for it not to come to anything during this horrendous time. Had emotional rollercoaster, dark discharge, cramping, uncomfortable for last week but it has stopped and not come to anything else. Also my scalp is excessively dry and itchy too. aaaagggghhh, this is a nightmare.

I have had no period since june. Feels like it is coming but never does. Just started night sweats too. I am so upset, i want another child.

this was how it started for me - last period in June, the day before my 35th birthday . In July I had what I thought was pmt, then became very like early pregnancy symptoms but tests were negative. 2 blood tests later and I'm told I'm in early menopause. Just started on HRT today - very strange.
GP tested me for a few things including thyroid function so your symptoms are not necessarily menopause - have you seen your GP?

Hi,
Sorry to take so long to reply. Yes am attending a clinic, more tests next week. Took pregnancy test again last week but still negative. They are going to recommend HRT but being mid 30's I am a bit scared. Can you successfully conceive whilst on HRT?

This happened to me last year - periods stopped ro 3 months then came back as normal. 9 months later & now period is 3 weeks late ( def not PG) but feel like I have permananet PMT & am taking tampax etc everywhere with me just in case. Saw Dr about it last year who said it was perimenopause & the gaps would get longer unilt periods stopped alotgther. You're right it is very unsettling.

sam- HRT is safe if you are young- your body would have the hormones naturally until you were 50-ish so the risks do not apply really.

It is quite possible to get period like pains etc but no period. it's a bit like a phantom period- your body expects it but no bleeding comes.
