I suffered with itchy ears, felt like something wriggling inside, this was a peri symptom. Haven't had it as much now hrt started.

I have endless itchy ears, am sure it’s another gift from the menopause. I’ve had them swabbed and checked and it’s nothing but dry skin.

Can recommend Cl-ear pain relief ear drops, they have oil and a drop of lidocaine in them and they soothe the itching.

Ordered the drops - ill try anything at this point!!

I have annoyingly itchy ears too but have also developed dry skin just at the edge of my ear canal.

I had this too, also GP said it was probably eczsma and some steroid spray cleared it up.

It could be both. It's definitely a peri/post menopause problem for me. But I did develop an external ear infection not long after the itchiness started, which I self-treated with Ear Calm repeatedly for months. It just kept coming back. Finally had a swab at the doctors and a topical antibiotic and a course of clarithromycin knocked it on the head.

Both ears are still bloody itchy periodically though - two years on.

I’ve had itchy ears all my life. Like right inside, too far to get at! Feels as far back as my throat if that makes sense! I’m told it’s allergies but I’m on anti histamines full time and it makes no difference.

If I have an allergic flare-up (hayfever, cats, some rawfruits), my inner ears itch insanely.

I also swim and have had issues with swimmer's ear - even got referred to ENT (antibiotic drops sorted it a couple of years ago.) I am very diligent about using ear plugs in the bath/shower/pool. ENT nurse would like me to quit swimming altogether, but that would be bad for my mental health, as well ad physical.

Peri probably makes it all worse, though.
