Everol sequi

I’m not sure what I’m wanting as an answer but that describes my mind at the moment I suppose! I’m not new to HRT patches (sequi) I’ve attempted to track but that’s been hit and miss really. I’ve been on them for over a year.

Basically, I’m realising how moody, anxious I am, I particularly feel it for a week before my period and then whilst on my period. Maybe related to being on the everol Conti at that time? I have suffered with awful flu symptoms prior to my period too. my head feels so utterly full, like it could explode. I might also add that I teach FT and I feel at breaking point once I get home!
The perimonopause has made me feel irritable and anxious anyway, but, I feel a whole lot worse for a week or so each month. My periods are also heavier and I get period pain that I haven’t really had before.
What I’d like to know is what is causing the moodiness, worse anxiety etc Do I Just work with it or is there something I can do? One consideration is coming off HRT, I feel it’s now made little difference? Can anyome
put their finger on any of this? Thanks

That week-before-and-during-your-period pattern really stands out, and it suggests this is cycle related rather than the patches simply not working anymore. It might be worth keeping a daily note of mood, anxiety and physical symptoms against where you are in your cycle for a couple of months, so you can see whether things dip in a regular pattern around the Conti part of the patch rather than just putting it all down to a bad day. The heavier, more painful periods alongside the flu-like feelings and the sense your head might explode are worth mentioning to your GP too, since that combination might point to a dose or type review rather than coming off HRT altogether.

You mention Evorel Conti and having periods. Why did your doctor prescribe Conti if you are still bleeding? Have you read the patient information leaflet?

I’ve just started on these. I’m on my second month. They’ve been good overall but I have noticed whilst my anxiety is better it’s still worse than before (always had it, worse when hormonal). Also tend to get diarrhoea when changing the patch in the later part of the week and the breast tenderness is something else! Can you change HRT?

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/10/2026 18:13

@LadyLapsangi also still have periods

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/10/2026 18:13

Also I have a heavy feeling and cramps

DoubleBusy2026 · 08/10/2026 18:14

I’ve just been prescribed these and I’m so confused as there’s two different types of patches in the box? I read the information leaflet and still none the wiser as to which to take when?

LadyLapsang · 08/10/2026 18:20

My understanding is the Conti patches are for women who have not had a bleed for a year and the Sequi patches are for perimenopausal women and those who have just stopped having withdrawal bleeds. If you don’t understand how to use them speak to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

I read it that the OP has Evorel sequi but when she uses the conti patches for the two weeks she has the symptoms she’s describing.

I was very confused too as it wasn’t explained. I was told I could start immediately. Keep the patches in the order they are in. I put mine on, on a Tues Eve & then change on a Fri eve. Just keep to the same days depending on how you time yours

Yes but which do you take first? Do you just take one then the other then the other? I took them out of the box so I’ve no idea what order they’re in

It’s in the instructions leaflet inside. Also chat gpt set me up a quick guide. As my peri menopausal brain was forgetting. You apply the Evorol 50 patches for two weeks, changing twice weekly. Then you apply Evorol Conti for the final two weeks of the month changing twice weekly. Take on same days each week
