Anxiety, antidepressants and perimenopause

I’m really struggling. I’ve upped my oestrogen and it’s taken the edge off, but it’s a daily battle. The GP said Sertraline was an option if I needed it. I’m trying all the usual things like diet and exercise and meditation. I’d love to manage this without the side effects of antidepressants, but I don’t know if I can do it.

Did you manage your anxiety without antidepressants?

No - I was already on them, but anxiety got that bad through perimenopause/menopause with psych involved they changed me to different antidepressant and all hell let loose.

I’ll always have anxiety now I think just a matter of trying to manage it. Horrible illness

your doing the right thing involving yourself in things takes your mind off yourself.
easy to say, hard to practice.
Keep going don’t let it grind you down ❤️❤️

Have you thought about changing the progesterone?
what are you on?

Thanks @Mancity08 I’m sorry to hear you suffer with it and it was so bad for you. I hope things are better now.

@JinglingSpringbells the GP said I am taking a higher dose of progesterone. 100mgx2 a day. Two weeks on then two weeks off. Not sure if you agree?
