Yes

wizzywig · 13/09/2026 22:58

Totally

O00ps · 13/09/2026 22:58

Or rather it can be. It happened to me and has happened to others. Enjoy it if you can

Does it suddenly disappear again?
I ask because I’m single and I’m wondering if I should grab a man if I only have a short window😁

Yes, lasted about six months for me.

Oooh yes - the menopausal sex surge 🤪. If single and wanting to make the most of it do make sure to stay safe while having fun - use condoms, consider PrEP to prevent HIV and get tested regularly.

Very normal over here. DH is loving life and also a little scared to twitch near me.

Go and have some fun!! I say that as a fellow singleton whos in the peri stage but also have a ramped up libido.

Yep.
I read somewhere that it's because it's a last chance to get pregnant.

Mine lasted about ten years, then suddenly left the party. I should say, though, that my menopause was uncommonly slow and long-lasting. Don't bank on it. Do take precautions. Have fun!

--- Come to think of it, "Make hay while the sun shines" couldn't be more appropriate! Hay-making occurs at the end of the fertile season, it's the last useful product you're getting out of that field, and it used to be a jolly social event involving physical exertion in the glorious glow of late summer ☀

Yes, mine went through the roof in my late 30s and all of my 40s so far. I'm 49. I'm enjoying it.

Other symptoms not so much.

It can be the opposite for a lot of women. I don’t think there’s a “normal”.

PermanentTemporary · 14/09/2026 07:26

It certainly can. Mine increased a little as ds got older, then very sadly Dh died traumatically when I was in my late 40s and my sex drive went through the roof, tbh it was a bit frightening. If you’re single I’d say embrace it, with some guard rails for the risks. Years later, it’s stayed higher now I’m in a relationship but has settled down to a more normal level. Tbh I am afraid it will go completely but so far it’s fine. I have some great memories from that very extreme time and my sex life has remained permanently better because of what I learned about my own sexuality then.

This is also true, of course.
