Lenzetto - anxiety and other symptoms.

Anybody taking Lenzetto and have/had the same?

I started on lenzetto 6 weeks ago, 2 sprays and all seemed to be going fine and I had high hopes that the aching muscles, the fatigue and joint issues would improve but the last 3 days I’m not sure anymore.

I suffer with health anxiety anyway which I take sertraline for and it felt under control.. but for the last 3 days I’ve had what feels like mini panic attacks or as Google would suggest hormonal anxiety attacks. I can be sitting down doing nothing then all of a sudden I feel extremely tired, nervous, shaky and I become really aware of my breathing. My back is so tense after 3 days of this it hurts and I feel like I’m just waiting for another attack which makes the anxiety go round in a circle.

I cannot pinpoint anything that is starting these attacks off and I am starting to wonder if it’s possibly linked to the lenzetto or if I’m am just losing my mind. I feel so much older than the mid 40’s that I am!

for reference I use the spray at night and these attacks seem to happen at random times, I’ve had one in the afternoon and 2 in the morning after being awake for an hour or so.

I will be contacting the GP but wondered if anyone else has experienced anything like this.

Is this your first try of HRT? 2 sprays of lenzetto is quite a low / starting dose.

Yes first try, GP said do two sprays and at the review at 12 weeks could possibly move up to 3 which I think is the max?

I’m 53 and have been on one spray for 3 months. Happily has sorted my hot flushes and night sweats. I certainly don’t feel worse on it

I started on 1 spray and was fine, it actually improved those same symptoms that I was having prior to starting it. Now on 2 sprays after a yeR and still okay. I don't take progesterone with it having had a hysterectomy.

Some people are incredibly sensitive to oestrogen and adding more when your own is constantly spiking through the peri menopause years, can paradoxically make you feel worse. I've had similar. I tried to persevere for over six months but the anxiety and increase in panic attacks, have made me come off it. However, I find the progesterone element to do wonders in calming the nervous system and aiding sleep. So for now, I'm continuing with the progesterone alone and will reevalate when I go into full on menopause.

You need to give hrt longer and maybe up the dose. Or maybe reduce it to 1 pump. Lenzetto is stronger than estrogel gel so you may need less ( average dose for gel is 2 pumps.) You might even get on better with gel.
Or you could try using it in the morning rather than night.

what progesterone are you using?

Maybe you could take a more holistic approach to your mental health. Not just meds but a wider range of self help. Have you had counselling or CBT? Or practised meditation and mindfulness? MIND has loads of advice on their website for dealing with anxiety.

For instance, CBT / counselling is now recommended over SSRIs - talking therapy. GPs are supposed to offer that first, or you can pursue it yourself.
SSRIs are dealing with the symptoms but they aren't retraining your mind to deal with anxious thoughts.

Do you do any of this now? You could try mindfulness apps, yoga (breathing exercises calm the mind and my consultant suggests this as well as HRT.) HRT can't do it all.

Hope you find a way forward.
