Could this be perimenopause worsening anxiety and fear of flying?

I’m not sure what I’m expecting from posting this but I just feel a total failure. Maybe im looking for someone to tell me I’m not going mad.
I’m 100% sure I’m perimenopausal but my gp won’t entertain me as at 41 apparently im to young. I’ve struggled with anxiety for about three years and anything that could have caused me anxiety or fear before has now become a debilitating fear. Mainly so my fear of flying.
im about to back out year another holiday with my family. My daughter has a daily countdown and im in tears everyday. I feel sick. I can’t stop crying. When I think about telling my kids I can’t go I’m a mess.
I take propranolol , ashwaganda and use calm patches. I just feel like I’m going mad

Perimenopause definitely worsened my anxiety and I can relate to feeling that you're going mad.

HRT has helped. Propranolol and ashwaganda had no effect on me. Antidepressants of the SSRI type do work for anxiety but might take a week or two for you to feel the effect. CBT techniques can be very very helpful.

Please speak to your GP and say what you wrote on your opening post. You have real anxiety (your reaction is disproportionate to the cause) and it's having a serious impact on your life and your family's. Your GP will be able to help.

Yep, 100%

Your gp is ignorant!!!

Mental health symptoms are the first sign of peri for many people -

try a different gp, or go private - I recommend Newson clinic; they offer online consults

HRT massively helped, well basically fixed my anxiety (also age 41) and I have read many accounts of women our age or younger even with the exact same x

I’d recommend seeking a private opinion from a menopause specialist if your own surgery cannot provide this.

Yup agree. Your gp is an idiot. Go back and request help for your crippling symptoms
