Hair loss and Mirena

Hi guys,
have anyone experienced hair loss, possibly linked to part of your HRT? I am suspicious it’s Mirena. If yes, has it stopped once you removed the coil?
My GP is very dismissive ( there is more I blame the coil for, last time I had appointment to have it removed due to severe mood swings, I came home with Evorel patch instead 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️). I can’t afford to lose more hair and getting fed up now

I’ve got hair loss but I don’t link it to my Mirena, I assumed it was age and genetics.

I had a lot of hair loss three months after having the Mirena fitted two years ago. It did settle down after a while and my hair is quite full now.

I considered having the Mirena removed because of the hair loss but decided to keep it. It stopped the heavy bleeding I'd had for a few years which was such a relief. It meant I could get my ferritin levels up and this has improved my hair texture. It had started to look dull and brittle but it's quite silky and shiny now.

I also started taking pumpkin seed oil capsules which I think have had a positive effect on the hair shedding. I ran out of the capsules at one point and started losing hair again. I use collagen too, which seems to help my hair and nails grow quickly.

Genetics play significant role in my case too but it all got much worse since the coil. Really hard to tell what is causing what ..😂🤷🏼‍♀️

its great to hear it improved itself for you Lalavande. I had a copper coil before - first one was great, second caused bleeding non stop for 4 months. Sadly my iron levels dipped ( still within a range according to NHS) . I am taking supplements ( plus minoxidil for hair loss) so I guess I will give it a bit longer x
