Effects of swapping from Evorel Conti to Utrogestan

I'm 42 and in peri-menopause. I have been on Evorel Sequi for the last 9 months (2 weeks of Evorel 50 patch and 2 weeks of Evorel Conti patch) and noticed for the last few months how awful I felt again - extremely low mood, no energy, libido completely disappeared, itchy skin etc. The Conti phase was extra horrendous!

After doing some research, I realised that it might be the Norethisterone and asked my doctor to change to Utrogestan. She prescribed it, without any trouble and also upped the Evorel to 75.

I started the Evorel 75 two weeks ago and feel amazing, like the old me is back! But I'm due to start the Utrogestan tomorrow and am worried about side effects. I know everyone is different but as I'm not starting from scratch (having taken Norethisterone previously), I was wondering if the effects would be as bad.

Has anyone swapped from Norethisterone to Utrogestan and not suffered any headaches or acne?

I've been on Utrogestan for years and have had no side effects. Bonus: take it before bed and it helps you sleep better.

I’m making the same switch this cycle, for similar reasons. Also concerned about headaches.

I swapped from everol conti to utrogestan and everol 50 because EC gave me crazy amounts of energy (and i preferred to take bio identical). I was awake from 4am full of beans zipping around cleaning windows, gardening, cooking, cleaning. Sounds great but it was too much long term. I just wasn't getting any sleep. I was 'wired buf tired'.

Utrogestan and everol 50 has been great. I take the utrogestan just as I get into bed. For the first 2 weeks of swapping I felt very very sleepy all the time but then by body adjusted and I've been fine since.

Be warned not all micronised progesterone is the same or is absorbed the same even if the ingredients are the same. I can't take Accord brand because they give me awful headaches but I'm fine with Utrogestan, Zentiva and Dr Reddys brands.
